The Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship Foundation seeks to assist selected Madison County seniors with college expenses. The purpose of the scholarships is to recognize athletes for their academic achievements, community service, and leadership abilities. Special consideration is given to students not receiving other forms of financial aid. Since 2005, the foundation and its partners have awarded more than $148,000 in scholarships.
The purpose of the Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame shall be to honor, preserve, and perpetuate the names and accomplishments of outstanding athletes and other sports personalities who are native to Madison County or who have lived and competed in Madison County for a period of ten (10) years and have not been an active player for five (5) years, except in lifetime activity sports..
Inductees are selected from nominations solicited from the public. It is the intention of the Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame to recognize individuals who are strongly identified with Jackson-Madison County, Tennessee.
The University School of Jackson is honored to have two recipients this year.
